The Department of Emergency Medicine at Kaiyuan Orthopaedics Hospital is a full-service department, providing 24-hour expert emergency care to 30,000 patients annually.  Patients are treated by career emergency physicians, each of whom is residency trained and board eligible/certified in the specialty of emergency medicine, assisted by a highly qualified and caring group of emergency nurses and technical personnel. 

The Emergency Department’s diagnostic and therapeutic equipment is state of the art, with recent additions of a Pediatric Emergency Department and a trauma resuscitation wing.  Home to the largest emergency medicine residency-training program in area, KOH is also proud to be preparing future experts for practice in the field of emergency medicine.

Kaiyuan Orthopaedic Hospital is a designated 120 Receiving Hospital, a Regional Trauma Center , an Emergency Heart Care Center, and the first hospital in the Pudong to be designated as a Stroke Center.
